The UIA International Bar Senate celebrates the signing of the European Convention for the Protection of the Profession of Lawyer.

The International Union of Lawyers organised the first mid-term International Bar Leaders Senate in London, which included a special session dedicated to the signing of the Council of Europe's European Convention for the Protection of the Profession of Lawyer.

This Convention was signed in Luxembourg on 13 May 2025 and will be known as the ‘Luxembourg Convention’ once ratified.

François Moyse, who has been involved in drafting the Convention on behalf of lawyers‘ associations since 2017, spoke on the subject of the protection of lawyers’ individual rights contained in this legal instrument.
