ECBA tackles key issues in Sorrento (Italy) during its spring conference

The European Criminal Bar Association met in Sorrento on 25-26 April 2025 with François Moyse attending the event.

The conference was opened by key speeches of judges Francesco Vigano, Vice-President of the Italian Constitutional Court and Raffaele Sabato, Judge for Italy at the European Court of Human Rights.

Threats to liberal democracies, the fight for the independence of the Judiciary and upholding the Rule of Law were the topics discussed .

The conference served as a good occasion to exchange among criminals lawyers in Europe on issues of legal practice, in particular around Legal Privilege and seizure / confiscation of assets without conviction.
